Kift

The name ‘Kift’ is inspired by the ‘Kibbo Kift’, and the desire to facilitate a community of creative existence and exchange.

About

Kift Ceramics is run by Annabel Pettigrew, an artist and lecturer who lives and works in Frome. Working across a number of different media including textiles, video, sound, ceramics, performance, sculpture and installation. Kift Ceramics Studio is an extension of Annabel’s ceramics practice, intended to function as a space to grow and exchange ceramic practices with other artists and practitioners. The studio is a place where people can come to learn, engage, make, and contribute to the space.

Annabel studied BA (Hons) Fine Art at Kingston School of Art (2003-2006) and graduated from the Fine Art MA at Kingston in 2013. She has a PGCE in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, specialising in Sculpture and Installation in Fine Art, and has been teaching in Higher Education since 2011, currently teaching on Level 6 as a Tutor Group Leader on Fine Art at Arts University Bournemouth, and as Course Lead for the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Wiltshire College, Salisbury.

Annabel has previously worked as an artist facilitator and production manager, delivering large scale exhibitions and work in the public realm for internationally renowned artists, working with institutions and commissioning bodies including Mori Art Museum, Tate, Victoria Miro, New Art Gallery Walsall, V&A Museum, and Contemporary Art Society amongst others.
